MAKATI CITY – Hero Foundation Inc. recently held its annual board meeting last July 27, 2018. The board of trustees was wowed by the two HERO graduates as they were presented right after the event. Two of which is Maricar Centeno who acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development at University of the Philippines Diliman. Maricar’s father Sgt. Masicap Centeno PN(M) were killed in action at Cagayan de Oro City on May 6, 2000. Meanwhile, Britchel Rasonabe acquired his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology at STI Marikina. Britchel lost his father Sgt. Melchor Rasonabe PA on October 26, 1997 at Las Nieves, Agusan. Later that day, the board of trustees asked for their resumes for a possible job opportunity at their companies.
HERO Foundation produced 33 Graduates this year, an addition to its growing numbers of Graduates. Maricar and Brithcel were just two of thousands of military orphans that were supported and helped by the foundation. Despite the big challenges and circumstances in their lives, the two succeeded in finishing their education.
In Partnership with AFP-EBSO, HERO Foundation provides educational support in the form of stipends to children of Filipino soldiers that were killed or totally incapacitated in action since 1988. It also assists the scholars in securing on-the-job training and employment in partner companies to ensure their success.
