TAGUIG CITY – The first ALP Hero Run held last July 08, 2018 was nearly halted as the rain dispensed from the stormy clouds early morning as if it wouldn’t stop. But it was the rain that served as the starting pistol that signaled the start of the race. As the weather clears out, Hundreds of participants made their way to ARCA South suited up with their Super Hero costumes. The race was clustered to three categories, the 1k, 3k, and the 5k run.
The ALP Hero Run is for the benefit of the HERO Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization that helps the children of soldiers who were killed in action. Two of its scholars Danica and Romeo joined the run,
Masaya dahil dedicated sila sa race para makatulong sa amin. Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa mga nag-participate
said Danica a 17 year old Hero scholar from Taguig since 2013 who was grateful to the ALP Hero run participants that joined the event amidst the inclement weather.
Later after the race and before the winners were announced, a check amounting to 100,000 pesos were presented to MGen. Victor V. Bayani (Retired) and the scholars by the ALP Hero run officials. The pledge will help the military orphans pursue their education and reach their dreams.
