On September 22, 2026, HERO Foundation Incorporated paid a courtesy visit to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete, who personally extended his sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the Foundation’s unwavering mission of providing educational assistance to military orphan scholars nationwide.
The HERO delegation was led by its Executive Director, MGen. Victor V. Bayani AFP (Ret.) (fourth from left). Joining him were two successful products of the foundation’s noble advocacy: 2Lt. Franz Janille A. Silvela (FS) PA (second from left), a HERO scholar from Grade 8 until her graduation in 2018 with a BS in Accountancy, and Ms. Phoebeson Lycka P. Canapi (third from left), a HERO scholar from Grade 1 until her recent graduation last June 2026 with a BS in Civil Engineering.
During the visit, the foundation briefed the AFP Chief of Staff on its ongoing initiatives to secure the welfare of military orphans, tracking their progress through graduation and beyond.
HERO Foundation remains the largest partner of the AFP Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO)—currently led by its Chief, Col. Christopher L. Fredeluces PAF (far right). Together, they continue their shared commitment to protecting the future of the children and siblings of military personnel who were killed or incapacitated in battle or during disaster relief operations.
